The Nassau Bay City Council issued a proclamation on Monday, Februaary 13, honoring the 50th Anniversary of St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School and its significance to the Nassau Bay and Clear Lake area. Mayor Mark Denman and the city council named Sunday, February 26 as “St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School 50th Anniversary Gala Day” and presented the proclamation to Fr. Mike Stone and David Giles, school board member. St. Thomas staff and parents are very proud to be honored in such a way. Thank you, Nassau Bay!
IN HONOR OF THE 50TH YEAR OF ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE EPISCOPAL SCHOOL
WHEREAS, the City of Nassau Bay and St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School were born together, with the establishment of what is now NASA’s Johnson Space Center; and
WHEREAS, during the half century of human space exploration, St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School has taught over 5000 students, and launched over 500 graduates into lives of learning and achievement;
WHEREAS, throughout its history St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School has both benefitted from and reflected the vibrant academic curiosity and international diversity attracted to the City of Nassau Bay by the culture of exploration, science, engineering and medicine in and surrounding the Space Center; and
WHEREAS, St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School has drawn and supported students and families from countries all over the world, among them Russia, England, Italy, Mexico, Nigeria, Germany, Denmark, South Africa, Bulgaria, Australia, Sweden, the Netherlands, South Korea and China; and
WHEREAS, this year St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School is celebrating its achievements with the School’s 50th Anniversary Golden Gala, to which all Nassau Bay residents are invited; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mark Denman, Mayor, on behalf of the City Council, citizens, businesses and employees of the City of Nassau Bay, do hereby proclaim February 26, 2017 as
“St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School 50th Anniversary Gala Day”
and take great pleasure in presenting this proclamation to the students, faculty, support staff and parents of St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School for its outstanding achievements and long partnership with the City and community of Nassau Bay, Texas.
