St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church is more than a worshiping community: we are a place where ministries, nonprofit partners, and service organizations work alongside one another in shared mission.
Some of these partnerships are fully formed ministries of the church. Others are organizations we host or support by offering space, collaboration, and community connection. All are part of the wider work of care, service, and formation in Nassau Bay and the surrounding area.
Together, they reflect a simple belief: we can do more—together.

The Nearly New Resale Shop opened in 1971 in what is now the church office area, growing out of successful garage sales hosted by the women of the parish. Over time, it became a beloved ministry supported by volunteers, style shows, and community involvement across several campus locations.
These organizations are part of our shared campus life. While independent, they work alongside us in service to the broader community.
Sanctuary Foster Care Services is a Houston-based, faith-driven child placing agency working to bring stability and healing to children in the foster care system. Their mission is centered on breaking the cycle of repeated placements by equipping foster families with the tools, training, and support needed to care for children from hard places.
From their Clear Lake office just down the road (and with a presence on our campus!) Sanctuary serves families throughout the local community. Their approach is intentionally different, built around Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and comprehensive wraparound support, including counseling, in-home services, and 24/7 crisis care for foster families.
Its commitment is simple but profound: when a child enters their care, they remain supported until they reach stability—whether through reunification or adoption. It’s work that aligns closely with our own call to offer compassion, consistency, and care to those who need it most.
The Nassau Bay Community Center is a welcoming space for connection, activity, and community life, especially for older adults in the Nassau Bay and Clear Lake area. Gathering regularly on our campus, it offers a variety of opportunities to stay active and engaged, including exercise classes, chair yoga, and informal games like mahjong, dominoes, and canasta, along with piano instruction and other creative pursuits.
At its heart, the Community Center is about relationships. It provides a place to gather, build friendships, and share in the rhythms of everyday life. As it continues to grow, new ideas and activities are always welcome, shaped by the interests of those who participate.
We are glad to host and support this developing community resource as it takes root and expands its impact.
Bay Area Service Teens is a youth program of the Bay Area Service League that brings together high school students from across the Bay Area to serve their community through hands-on philanthropic work. Open to students in grades 9–11, BAST members commit to regular meetings, service hours, and active participation in charitable programs throughout the school year.
Members contribute through a mix of volunteer service, fundraising, and project-based initiatives that support local needs. In addition to building a strong habit of service, the program also develops leadership skills, responsibility, and a deeper connection to the community.
