Support St Thomas while shopping on Amazon
Amazon Smile donates .5% (yes that’s .005…but it can add up!) of your eligible purchases to a charity of your choice. St Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church is one of the charities that you can set your account to accumulate donations for. |

Manual Setup
When setting the charity that you want the donations to go to, you will need to use the Amazon Smile app.
- Sign in to smile.amazon.com on your desktop or mobile phone browser (not the mobile Amazon app) using your normal amazon id and password.
- If it is the first time you’re logging in on the Amazon Smile website, it should ask you to identify the charity you’d like the money to go to…in this case it is St Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church
- If it does not ask you: from your desktop on smile.amazon.com, go to Your Account from the navigation at the top of any page, and then select the option to Change your Charity. Or, from your mobile browser, select Change your Charity from the options at the bottom of the page.
- Select St Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church.
That’s it, no need to do it every time, just set it once.
From then on, when shopping on the pc, make sure you’re going to smile.amazon.com to shop and checkout. (Sometimes I forget and start shopping in regular Amazon, but remember to switch to the correct Amazon Smile url and all of the items are still in my cart.)
If you shop on your cell phone/tablet, you can change the default Amazon app to Amazon Smile by:
Open the normal Amazon app and find ’Settings’ in the main menu (☰). Tap on “see all programs” and then ‘AmazonSmile’ and follow the on-screen instructions to turn on AmazonSmile on your phone. It’s a one time switch. The Amazon Smile app is identical to the regular Amazon app, same inventory and prices. There are some things that are not eligible for the charitable donation, but very few that I’ve seen.
There’s nothing else that needs to be done. Amazon Smile will distribute all accumulated donations to STTAEC quarterly. And, if after a year, $5 hasn’t been raised for STTAEC, Amazon donates $5 themselves.
