Saint Thomas the Apostle

St. Thomas the Apostle, Nassau Bay is reaching out to people who experience the Christmas season as a time of loneliness or loss with a special service of music and prayer, Sunday, December 18 at 4:30 p.m. Amidst the revelry of the season, many people find “the most wonderful time of the year” extraordinarily difficult.

“Many people’s lives are marked by broken hearts and shattered spirits instead of holiday joy,” said the Rev. Mike Stone, rector of St. Thomas. “In this special service, called The Longest Night Service, we will offer our pain to God and seek comfort in the Christmas message,” Stone added.

Participants may light a memorial candle in addition to celebrating Holy Communion with simple hymns, prayers, readings and Scripture. “We invite anyone who is lonely, hurting or suffering from loss of any kind to join us, to come together, and know that in the midst of struggle, they are not alone,” Stone said.

All are welcome. St. Thomas is located at 18300 Upper Bay Rd, Houston, TX 77058. Call Susan Manville at 281.333.2384 for further information.
