Backpack Blessings for McWhirter Elementary!

St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church and School in Nassau Bay has recently conducted a “Blessings in a Backpack” drive to provide backpacks filled with school supplies to children at McWhirter Elementary in Webster.  Working with Communities in Schools, St. Thomas is providing 15 filled backpacks for each grade level from PreK-3 through 5th grade, 120 backpacks.  McWhirter Elementary is a Title I school with 90+% of their school children on a “free” lunch program.  Besides the backpacks and school supplies in the fall, St. Thomas’ school children conduct a food drive at Thanksgiving and a clothing and toy drive at Christmas for McWhirter.  Reaching out into the community is a core value of both St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church and St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School!  For more information about our church or school, please call 281-333-2384 odr 281-333-1340.
