It is hard to believe that we are just about in mid-summer! Time seems to have flown by in 2016. We have a lot to be thankful for at St Thomas, there is lots of activity, lots of movement, lots of folks getting more involved. Each time I am at the church, I can feel the energy that is generated and I am grateful to all who are part of that energy.
I hope as I write this that those of you who have accepted the challenge are up to date, or at least close, on your readings in the challenge! I want to encourage each of you to continue to read and study the bible through the challenge this summer. I had a dear friend from a previous parish that was participating in the Bible Challenge and he sent me pictures of him keeping up with his reading while he and his wife were on a cruise! It was fun to see that he had actually taken his Bible and was reading. I challenge each of you who are participating in the Bible Challenge … take a “selfie” or have someone take a picture of you, wherever you are on vacation or out and about, and send it to me! Let’s see where folks are reading the Bible and lets encourage each other as we all continue in this challenge. Perhaps we can get a “bulletin board” on the church web page or a live board in Brumley hall of folks reading the Bible!
I have each of you in my prayers as we continue to seek the truth contained in the Bible and as we each approach this challenge on our own!
