St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School’s own beloved Ms. Moisina Sanxhaku has been recognized as the Most Influential Teacher in the life of St. Thomas alumni, Lilly Araujo. Moisina first met Lilly when she was only 7 months old in daycare at the Post Oak YMCA where Moisina worked not long after she and her family had moved to the U.S. from Albania. Moisina began working at St. Thomas in 1999 and, just a couple of years later in 2003, a familiar face showed up in Mrs. Bibler’s Voyager class, Lilly.
As she graduates in the top 20 students in her class from Dickinson High School, Lilly has chosen Moisina as her influential teacher, saying: “From the beginning you have helped raise me and have watched me grow over the years. You have influenced me in so many ways and I would love to thank you by recognizing you at this Gala.”
Moisina will be a guest of honor at the 2016 Seeds of Excellence Academic Recognition Gala on Tuesday, April 26 at South Shore Harbor Resort and Conference Center. When Lilly came by St. Thomas to take a photo, it was a wonderful reunion as Mrs. Anne Martin (her kindergarten teacher), Mrs. Dawn Lee, and Mrs. Karen Baker were all here and had all been teachers of Lilly’s.
Moisina has loved and nurtured hundreds of children over the years. We at St. Thomas appreciate her daily for all she does for us and our children. We celebrate her now as she receives this special honor.
