The Bible Challenge is a program created by the Rev. Marek P. Zabriskie, an Episcopal Priest. Come with us as we take a great journey through the Bible, a year-long reading adventure. If you choose to purchase the book, The Bible Challenge, each days readings are accompanied by a meditation written by a church leader or biblical scholar (Bishop Andy is the author of several of these meditations). More than one hundred archbishops, bishops, deans, priests, and scholars have contributed essays. The book is optional, but recommended to get the full effect of the program. We will publish each week’s readings in the Newsletter and the News you can use so that you can stay on track. We read from the Old Testament, Psalms, and the New Testament six (6) days a week (M – Sat). The readings on Sunday during Mass take care of our readings for that day. While this is a personal endeavor, we will all be able to share with each other as we will all be reading the same thing at the same time.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me so we can chat! I have seen first-hand the power of reading scripture as a church has on a congregation. The more strength we gain from
the Word, the more able we are to serve others. This will be the fourth time that I will participate in the Bible Challenge and I firmly believe that our lives of faith will be enlivened and expanded by continuous reading of God’s Word. If you never thought you could read the whole Bible, The Bible Challenge is a wonderful way to embark on a holy pilgrimage joined by others from around the world!
We will begin our Bible Challenge at the beginning of Lent, a perfect Lenten discipline and a time for study and self-reflection. More info and more details are coming!
