Our Partners

EarthRise was made possible through the collaboration and support of organizations committed to education, reconciliation, historical preservation, and public engagement.  We gratefully acknowledge their partnership in bringing this initiative to life.

John and Joseph Talbot Fund for Racial Reconciliation

Established through the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, the John and Joseph Talbot Fund supports church and community initiatives that advance racial reconciliation, preserve overlooked histories, and promote justice in local communities.  Through its grant support of EarthRise, the Fund helped St. Thomas honor the achievements and contributions of people whose roles in the American space program have too often been overlooked.

Educational & Historical Resources

EarthRise is intended to be the beginning of a conversation, not the end of one.  The following organizations preserve original documents, educational materials, archival collections, and historical research that provide additional context for the stories featured throughout EarthRise.

NASA

NASA preserves and shares the history of the American space program through mission archives, biographies, photographs, scientific resources, and educational materials. Many of the astronauts, engineers, scientists, and leaders honored by EarthRise contributed directly to NASA’s work in exploration and discovery.

NASA Learning Resources

NASA’s Learning Resources portal offers lesson plans, classroom activities, videos, career information, and hands-on STEM materials designed to inspire students, educators, and lifelong learners to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum preserves one of the world’s premier collections documenting aviation and spaceflight.  Its exhibits, biographies, artifacts, and archival collections provide valuable historical context for many of the stories represented throughout EarthRise.

Library of Congress

The Library of Congress provides access to photographs, manuscripts, newspapers, oral histories, and other primary source materials that help document the lives, careers, and historical eras represented by EarthRise‘s honorees.

National Museum of African American History and Culture

Part of the Smithsonian Institution, the National Museum of African American History and Culture preserves the stories, achievements, and contributions of African Americans across every aspect of American life.  Its collections provide important historical context for many of the pioneers honored through EarthRise.
