The Festival of Trees for Interfaith Caring Ministries

December 2, 2016, Author: St. Thomas the Apostle Church

The Festival of Trees event is ICM’s biggest fundraiser of the year, generating support for all of ICM’s programs. The event took place Thursday, December 1, 2016 at South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center. Proceeds from the Festival of Trees will benefit ICM’s ongoing services which assist local families who are in an economic crisis due to issues such as illness and unemployment. Agency services include: emergency rent and utility assistance to prevent homelessness; food assistance; childcare assistance for those furthering their education; referral to low/ no-cost medical services; a community computer lab for at-risk students and outreach for homebound senior citizens. Each month, ICM assists approximately 300 families. Last year, St Thomas students and parishioners decorated two trees and raised $800 for ICM. This year, St Thomas 4th and 5th graders have each decorated a tree to support ICM.
